A useful watering route starts with observation, not volume. Walk the garden once before picking up the hose and look for the places that have already dried out.
Start with exposed pots and narrow beds. These usually need attention before shaded corners. If the soil is still cool and settled, skip it and move on.
Finish by checking where water runs away too quickly. A slower pour near the root zone usually helps more than a rushed pass across every plant.
